The Maharashtra State Branch Of Indian Radiological & Imaging Association which has 3000 practicing radiologist (Post graduate doctors specializing in X-ray, sonography, CT, MRI, PET Scan) recently held their The new team of elected office bearers led by the President Dr. Shailesh G. Sangani (Navi Mumbai) and Secretary Dr. Pravin Sagole (Nagpur), were installed in a glamorous function at the hands of chief guest DR. Sanjay Mukherjee, the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO.

Other office bearers included Dr Pradip Gandhi (Pimpri) as President elect, Dr. Alpna Joshi (Mumbai), Dr. Ganesh Sanap (Pune), Dr. Vikrant Desai(Mumbai) as Vice Presidents, Dr. Kishor Bhandari (Nashik) as treasurer, Dr. Chetan Singhal (Navi Mumbai) and Dr. Sandip Mahajan(Nagpur) as join secretary along with four central council and six executive council members from across the state. The association MSBIRIA carries on multiple continued medical education programs for its members through-out the year in the form of seminars in various cities and a yearly annual conference by the name MAHARAD and a dedicated Ultrasound conference by the name ULTRAFEST were foreign faculties also come to share the recent advances in the western world.

In the inaugural speech, the president Dr. Shailesh G. Sangani outlined his vision of conducting one day seminars in smaller towns across the state so that the radiologist practicing in far off tehsils and talukas can also update their knowledge and keep abreast with the recent advances. He also promised to take the RAKSHA – Save the girl child, an initiative by MSBIRIA, to various district places wherein they can bring a change in the life of orphaned girl children. Through RAKSHA, the association of radiologist is helping the under privileged girl child through donations of books for education, sanitary pads for medical hygiene, and other items for social upbringing.

The chief guest Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, the VC and MD of CIDCO thanked the radiologist community for saving the lives of common man during COVID pandemic by performing, reporting and altering the serious cases through X-RAYS and HRCT on 24×7 basis across the state. He appreciated the work of radiologist as the back bone of modern medicine and the social activities of the association. He was impressed by the trade exhibition comprising of latest technology machines brought in by more than 25 companies for the display and practical demonstrations for more than 550 delegate who attended the conference.

The association through it’s new president requested the CIDCO MD to provide them with a premise to hold their teaching academic activities in a central place well connected to rest of the state. He promised to provide them appropriate place in Vashi or such node which can be utilized for such academic activities of association in long run.
